Asking an intelligent question.
Questions can reflect intelligence or stupidity.
Yesterday, I overhead the following question: "Is there Chinese food in this Chinese restaurant?"
I chuckled.
Coming from a 48 year old man who was born and raised in Malaysia, it was indeed, a very stupid question. That's no different than asking if there were any Indians living IN India.
So, "Is there Chinese food in this Chinese restaurant?"
The answer is "No, there's only Mexican food in this Chinese restaurant". hah aha haa.
I am reminded of a statement last year, from someone in Michigan, who thought that "Hyundai was called a Honda" in The U.S.A.
Shocking, isn't it?
Well, Honda is a Japanese car company and Hyundai is Korean. Japan and Korea are NOT the same country...anymore than Canada and The U.S.A. are the same country.
Asking stupid questions, is nothing new to this generation.
Jesus was asked "Master, who did sin, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" (John 9:2)
Now consider this: Where and when was this man who was born blind, supposed to have sinned??
In his mother's womb??
Yes, questions can certainly reflect intelligence - and whilst it is good to ask questions in order to learn, it is also good to think BEFORE we ask, lest we give others the impression that we have no common sense.
