Loraine Benjamin.

Some time ago, a woman named Brandy told me she had read my entire profile and wished there were more like me in Yahoo Chat.
That was nice of her...since women hardly ever compliment strangers - especially if the strangers happen to be men.
I posted a URL to my geocities page on the room screen for Brandy - and immediately out of nowhere, another chatter, Loraine Benjamin of New Brunsfels, Texas typed: "Don't click that link".
Somewhat offended, I asked why not.
She said links like those are able to steal a password.
Steal a password???
Goodness...and to think I had spent so much time creating my page...only to have some stranger in a chatroom rudely intervene and "shoot it down".
Well, this certainly didn't make a first good impression on me, seeing that I wasn't posting my page for anyone else but Brandy.
I guess I could have posted the URL in an I.M. box to Brandy, but the majority of American women, never answer private messages from men. (And this truth reflects the general mentality in a chatroom.)

It amazes me how a 5 foot 9, highly-trained college graduate born on April 21st 1965, could display such little knowledge about geocities and Yahoo, after being on the internet longer than I have.
Perhaps Loraine Benjamin is a nice person in real life. I don't know. But for her to have intervened like that, was totally out of line.
*sigh*
Oh well.
