Garlic and Onions.

Garlic has long been considered a herbal "wonder drug", with a reputation for preventing everything from colds and flu to the Plague!
It is also known to prevent certain types of bladder cancer. Raw Garlic is very strong and eating too much can cause problems to the digestive tract...but then again, Who in his/her right mind, would eat a raw garlic on its own???
Garlic and onions sauté-ed in oil, taste great with fried anchovies and diced potatoes.
Never store raw garlic IN oil at room temperature.
Personally, I think that all types of roots, herbs and spices are tasty and good...and those include ginger, cloves, mustard, garlic and onions.
Onions are low in calories, and although there are different colored onions available in stores, there are NO nutritional differences among these types. Onions make the perfect foundation for meats, poultry, soups, salads and stews - and help guard against many chronic illnesses because onions contain quercetin. Studies have shown that quercetin protects the human body against cataracts, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
So therefore, garlic bread and onion rings are good for health!
yay !
